LA 2008: Ford Fusion hybrid, and its Mercury Milan cousin, unveiled
Filed under: Hybrid, Ford, Mercury, LA Auto Show, Green Daily
We have known about the new Ford Fusion hybrid since early this morning, but now we’ve got the live pics so you can judge for yourself if these wonder hybrid twins were worth the wait. As of right now, these are our readers’ second-most anticipated vehicles of the show. The details include a 700-mile range from the more efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), the new leafy SmartGauge[TM] with EcoGuide, and lots of little improvements like a new high-efficiency converter. Check out a video of the Fusion/Milan unveiling and the press release after the jump. Ford says to prepare for the hybrids to show up in dealerships in spring 2009.
